Common questions about offering GLP-1

How the partnership works, who can take part, and how we keep it compliant.

Do I need to be a prescriber to offer GLP-1 through Harley Supplies?
No. It's open to registered healthcare professionals (GMC, GDC, GPhC or NMC) who have completed a recognised GLP-1 weight-management training course. If you prescribe, you can do so under your own registration; if you don't, we connect your patient to an independent prescriber. Dispensing and delivery are handled either way.
Is remote GLP-1 prescribing for weight management legal in the UK?
Yes. Prescribing GLP-1 medicines remotely is lawful in the UK when it follows a GPhC-compliant process — a genuine two-way consultation, objectively verified BMI, screening for contraindications and a plan for ongoing monitoring. It must never be a simple tick-box questionnaire. (This is separate from the in-person rule that applies to prescribing cosmetic injectables such as botulinum toxin.)
How is the consultation kept compliant?
Every prescription — issued by you, or by an independent prescriber we connect you to — follows GPhC guidance for supplying weight-management medicines online: a two-way assessment, independently verified BMI, review of the patient's wider health, and structured follow-up. The prescriber holds clinical responsibility for the decision.
Where does the medication come from, and is it genuine?
All medication is genuine and licensed, dispensed by Onescript, a GPhC-registered pharmacy, and delivered directly to your patient. Nothing is sourced from grey-market or unlicensed supply.
Who holds clinical responsibility for the prescription?
The prescriber who issues it — either you, under your own registration, or the independent prescriber we connect your patient to. You keep the patient relationship and aftercare; Harley Supplies is the platform between the clinic and the pharmacy, never a step in the clinical decision.
Do I need CQC registration to take part?
If you prescribe yourself, you do so under your own clinic's registration and governance. If you use the partner route with an independent prescriber, you don't need to prescribe or run dispensing infrastructure yourself — you bring the patient and own the aftercare. Because requirements depend on exactly what you deliver, check your service against current CQC guidance.
What training do I need?
Partners should have completed a recognised GLP-1 weight-management course — such as the Acquisition Aesthetics GLP-1 course — and be registered with the GMC, GDC, GPhC or NMC. We verify your registration once at onboarding.
Which medications are offered?
Licensed GLP-1 medicines for weight management, prescribed at the prescriber's clinical discretion for eligible patients. Specific products are discussed at onboarding rather than advertised publicly, in line with UK rules on prescription-only medicines.
